Blog #1: How I use the internet compared to my parents

* How do I use the internet?

Today, our young generations are obviously are more keeping up with the various usage of the internet than our parents. We are not only using the internet to browse the online news, videos and the emails, but also we are using the internet to share our everyday life experience with the people around us. I am a multi-user of various internet social network, for example, I frequently use Facebook, Twitter, Wechat, Instagram and etc. Especially Wechat is one of my favorite social network because it is easier for me to keep a good and private relationship with my friends by using this network. Basically, this network can only be downloaded in our mobile phones so that it is very easy to carry. What Wechat does is that you can post any texts and pictures to the "moments", where your friends can discover your status. And one thing that I like the most about Wechat is the section of friend's comments are private so that only friend-to-friend can see it, which makes my life so much simpler. Many of us may feel tired of typing the message to friends, but on Wechat you can just send them a voice message, and they can receive it immediately! Overall, Wechat is very fun and easy to use to share your thoughts and everyday life with the people around you.

* How my internet use compare to my parents?

None of my parents use either Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Wechat and such communication networks. The only thing that drives my parents to use the internet is to check their emails and browsing the online news and videos. Maybe it is too complicated for them to understand the use of Wechat? Perhaps it takes time for them to absorb new social media. However, I am encouraging my mother to use Wechat to better communicate with me since we are not living together.
